PHOENIX, June 15, 2026 – Spectrum Medical Care Center, a nonprofit healthcare provider serving Arizona’s LGBTQ+ community, announced today it is the recipient of a $30,000 national grant from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Grants are awarded annually to organizations who provide resources to address the needs of all communities impacted by HIV/AIDS.

Spectrum Medical was founded in 1997 to provide affirming, comprehensive healthcare to people living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS. Its core clinical services include HIV treatment and prevention, including PrEP, STI testing and treatment, and primary care. Spectrum Medical maintains a deep commitment to serving communities that have historically been underserved, marginalized, or excluded by mainstream healthcare systems.

In addition to the services provided at the clinic, Spectrum Medical also maintains active partnerships with public health agencies, community organizations, and peer service providers in Arizona including Maricopa County Department of Public Health, one·ׁn·ten, Aunt Rita’s Foundation and more. In 2025, Spectrum Medical conducted 216 community events, provided over 1,000 HIV tests and distributed more than 118,000 condoms across the Phoenix metro area.

“Being recognized by Broadway Cares is an extraordinary honor, and one that means a great deal to our entire team,” said Mark Moeremans, CEO of Spectrum Medical Care Center. “For nearly 30 years, Spectrum Medical has been committed to providing compassionate, affirming care to the LGBTQ+ community in Phoenix. This grant allows us to keep expanding that work and ensure our patients always have access to the care they deserve.”

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation’s largest HIV/AIDS-related grantmaking organizations, having raised and distributed more than $170 million since its founding in 1988. This year, the organization awarded $2 million in grants to 48 organizations selected from applicants across the country.

Funds will support Spectrum Medical’s continued operations and expanded services, including its Full-Spectrum Queer Gyno Care Initiative, community outreach programs, and efforts to reach LGBTQ+ youth ages 18 and older.
