2025 has been a monumental year for Spectrum Medical, thanks to the hard work of our team, our partners, and the support of our community. We’ve grown significantly with numerous key roles added to prepare for ambitious growth plans that will help us nurture new opportunities to cultivate care with the compassion, inclusion, and the premier healthcare you deserve. We look forward to 2026 with a deepened commitment to be the Southwest’s leading LGBTQ+ health center, providing best-in-class primary and specialized care.
Let’s review some of our major milestones this last year.
Transformative Leadership at Spectrum Medical
As we celebrate the well-earned retirement of our founder, Dr. Vanig, we also honor the visionary legacy he leaves behind; one built on compassion, courage, and a steadfast belief in equitable healthcare for all. His leadership created the foundation upon which Spectrum Medical stands today, shaping a model of LGBTQ+ and HIV care that has transformed lives throughout Arizona and beyond.
Building upon that legacy, Spectrum strengthened its leadership team in 2025 to continue this important mission well into the future. We welcomed our CEO, Mark Moeremans, and Dr. Howard Grossman, a nationally recognized pioneer in LGBTQ+ and HIV medicine, as our new Medical Director. On the operations side, we’re excited to welcome two new members of our leadership team — Efram Peller as Chief Operating Officer, bringing decades of healthcare operations expertise, and Siene Garvin as Chief Financial Officer, who joins us from Intel with deep experience in strategic finance and organizational growth. This year has also seen important enhancements to our Board of Directors, whose members reflect the diverse experiences, identities, and needs of the communities we serve. Together, we remain deeply committed to advancing Dr. Vanig’s original vision of “Care for All,” expanding our reach, deepening our partnerships, and ensuring compassionate healthcare access for generations to come.
Championing Health Innovation
Spectrum Medical prides itself on being the frontline for access to innovative healthcare approaches, especially those that empower our LGBTQ+ patients. In 2025, we expanded our care and prevention services in response to groundbreaking developments in healthcare. As a nod to our commitment to next-generation HIV prevention and treatment options that center patient experiences, we began offering YEZTUGO: the new, twice-yearly injectable PrEP medication that will be a game-changer for the community.
Over the last 12 months, our team has also continued to grow our national and international network through presentations and attendance at noteworthy conferences with fellow leaders in LGBTQ+ healthcare, bringing new ideas and new approaches to our patients as we learn about new advancements in the field. We are eager to continue building Spectrum Medical’s profile in the global health space as a means to provide world-class care to you here in the Southwest.
Coming Together as a Community
In 2025, Spectrum Medical’s community outreach programs have been nothing short of inspiring. From local health fairs and wellness collaborations, to rapid response and clinic support, we have been hard at work making connections with community members in the places they gather so they are better connected to care options! Some new partnerships included heat relief efforts with Maricopa County, the J&M Walk to Fight Addiction, Equality Health Foundation’s Healthy Fall Festival, and numerous partnerships with local colleges and universities. The community has truly shown up and supported our mission, and for that, we are so grateful. If you’ve stopped by a booth or attended one of our events in the last year, thank you! Here are a few highlights from our community efforts:
- Increased LGTBQ+ community partnership efforts
As a testament to our dedication to serving our patients, we increased engagement with stakeholders in the local LGBTQ+ community in 2025. We’re excited to continue fostering relationships that strengthen our collective efforts and support the common goal of LGBTQ+ wellbeing. Keep scrolling to see some of our event stats! - Arizona’s number one PrEP provider.
Spectrum Medical’s community outreach team has spread awareness about our easy-to-access prevention strategies, including PrEP, across the valley. This included new marketing strategies, social media posts, and a webinar focused on YEZTUGO, a newly approved PrEP medication that is quickly gaining traction in the gay community as a better alternative to daily PrEP medication regimens. These efforts have made it easier for more people to access the education, resources, and care we all need to be well and are generating important conversations in the community about better health practices. - Active participation in mobile testing events and outreach sites
To reach and engage more members of the community, we expanded Spectrum Medical’s involvement in mobile testing and outreach sites. By meeting people where they are, literally and figuratively, we’re making it easier for individuals to learn about their healthcare options and access information in a welcoming, approachable setting.

Spotlight on new PrEP treatments
One of the most exciting developments at Spectrum Medical in 2025 was the introduction of YEZTUGO, a groundbreaking PrEP injection that only needs to be administered twice a year. Approved by the FDA in June, YEZTUGO is the latest innovation in HIV prevention and provides protection without the need for a daily pill or frequent prescription refills. The addition of YEZTUGO into our existing portfolio of PrEP medication options is representative of our mission to advance health through increased access to cutting-edge solutions and we are proud to be one of the first clinics in the Phoenix region to offer the drug.
Since launching in October, over 50 patients have already embraced this novel new approach to HIV prevention. We deployed a successful marketing and education campaign to help inform people about this exciting new option, helping bring more individuals into our care and raise awareness in the broader community. This proactive approach is designed to strengthen our connection with the community by creating opportunities to educate people about both the benefits of PrEP and the existing and emerging options for obtaining this important HIV prevention treatment.
YEZTUGO represents another incredible step forward for Spectrum Medical and our community. This twice-yearly medication reduces barriers and supports patients’ long-term sexual health, providing critical relief for people who may find daily pills challenging or burdensome.
If you want to learn more about YEZTUGO or other PrEP options, check out our PrEP Care page or give us a call at (602) 604-9500 to schedule an appointment to talk with a care provider.
